Rosa Parks is famous for refusing to give up her seat on the bus for a white man to sit down. In doing so, she caused a huge bus boycott, which in turn made the law that only white people in the front of the bus and black people in the back was unconstitutional. Though after this incident, she was bombarded with threats, she moved to Detroit. Thereafter, Rosa Parks still continued to aid the civil rights movement. She was awarded with the Congressional Gold Medal. |
